All Girl Challenge - Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn PART 4B

We're almost finished with the All Girl Challenge for the game, Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn. Let's continue with the journey to the Tower of Guidance in Begnion.

Chapter 3

Micaiah and company are somewhere in the desert. Here, they are attacked by the Disciples of Order, here led by Duke Numida, one of those responsible for the oppression in Daien.

This is a pretty hard chapter (at first), because it's in the desert. Meaning there are reduced movement for some units. My team composed mostly of mages and fliers may be a good thing, but they are still vulnerable, and can't be used for the front lines. The status staves are also annoying.

Upon the arrival of Black Knight, the tables have turned. He can destroy everyone literally, but I cannot let him do that. My units need all the exp points they can get before they move to the Tower of Guidance. Although he gives bonus exp for units he finishes off, I still need my units as they also have to raise their weapon levels.

So, I did not let him reach the boss. I raced him to Numida. What's funny is even though Numida uses staff on my units at a large distance, confrontation conversations still occur. For instance:

Numida is still far from them, yet they talk to each other. Those have got to be loud voices.

Black Knight is closing in on Hetzel. Time to race him to defeat the boss first. But first, let's have some more conversations.
It's nice to see the loyalty of the Holy Knights to Sanaki, even with the controversy that she is not the true apostle.

Chapter 4

Ike's team stop at a villa. Here they find Tormod, Vika, and Muarim confronted by the Disciples of Order.

The only difficulty I experienced in this chapter, is to prevent the trio from getting owned. Since they are underleveled, mainly because they are only available in Part 1, they can easily get doubled, even the sage using Meteor. At least they do not fall under the "other" units. That would be much more difficult to save them.

Burn, Ike, burn! LOL

The boss in this level is... Oliver? For those who does not know him, he kept Reyson in his villa, in the previous game. He is wanted for what he has done to the heron laguz.

I could just finish him off, but after he saw Rafiel,
It's funny how Oliver is the one who came close to Rafiel. Even though he is with the enemy, he is still obsessed with the heron tribe laguz. That leaves one less enemy to defeat.

Chapter 5

Remember why I put Calill in the Silver Army? It is for triggering this scene:
She's just a child. How come she is spared from Ashera's judgement?
The Silver Army finds Count Bastian and Volke in pursuit of a man who escaped their captivity. With them, is Duke Renning, who got imprisoned during the previous game. He was given the drug that creates Feral Ones, and needs an antidote.

Time to unleash the small army again.
My mistake? I should've put more ladies in this team, especially those who are good tanks. Getting ambushed by high attack units is not cool, especially the tigers and dragons. Another mistake is bringing Paragon to this team. I should've given it to the other teams, since the laguz yield good amounts of exp points.

Every turn, Izuka would be summoning four feral ones to aid him in battle. This would've been a non-ending battle for me, if he did not stop it at turn 20+ I think. On the bright side, my units would reach the max level, but this is also bad.

My units form a wall, to protect my units with lesser defense. I am only hoping that blocking would be effective, due to my limited amount of units.

For instance, this kind of wall.

My aim is to let them reach a level where most stats are maxed out, then let the award exp level them up so the guaranteed increase for three stats would take place. Which is why I focused on Izuka immediately upon reaching him.

Just how painful their attacks are?
Elincia reached level 20 in this level, but good thing, her stats turned out okay. That is thanks to her transfer bonus stats.

I made Lucia confront Izuka, since she has the lowest level, and the others are almost max level.

Oh, sorry. Did I just destroy your weapon? That was a droppable weapon, but oh well. No one can even use a dark tome from my current units.

They successfully defeat Izuka, but he is not the one who cured Renning. It was Reyson who was able to undo the Feral One drug.

Before I end this post, there is something I still wonder until now. Who is this one Yune and Stefan are talking about? They are talking about the different people who are also Branded just like them.

That little girl... Are they referring to Amy? Is that why she got spared from the judgement of Ashera? I still can't believe that she would be a Branded. Maybe I left something out from the previous game, particularly the support conversations.

Up next, we will now enter the Tower of Guidance.

All Girl Challenge - Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn PART 4A

A long blog hiatus, because I was playing other games, especially Fire Emblem Fates - all routes. Hopefully I can still have a good narration of the events of Part 4. Pardon for the large amount of iimages. This is a very informative chapter.

Part 4 Opening Conversation

Beorc and laguz were petrified, because of Ashera's judgement. Whoever possessed Micaiah had said these things. Oh, she haven't introduced her yet.

Yune, the dark god? Reference from Path of Radiance
In Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, Yune is known as the dark god who resides in the medallion of Lehran. If awakened by war, it would be the end of the world, to make things simple. However, Yune was awakened by the Galdr of Release, so why are most people petrified?

A short biography on who Yune and Ashera are, opposed to what the characters normally know.
Mist tried to sing it, but she only knows the melody, and not the lyrics.

The horrible truth of what Ashera did:

Ike and company, the so called "Chosen Ones", are to head to the Tower of Guidance at Begnion, to confront Ashera for what she has done to the people of Tellius. They are split into three armies, to prevent the whole army being taken down in the case of an ambush by Ashera's army.

Here are my chosen lineups for the three armies:

Silver army
Micaiah, Sothe, Leanne, and Skrimir are mandatory members of the Silver Army. I've put Sigrun and Tanith here, since they would be useful in a chapter involving their army. Meg and Laura have A support, so they are together. It would also be nice to have the original Dawn Brigade together. Ilyana and Mia, on the other hand, have A support, and bond support, so they would be great together. The rest are just fillers.

Greil Army
As the name states, the leaders of the Greil Mercenaries are in this army. Ike, Mist, Titania, and Soren are joined by Queen Nailah and Rafiel. Heather and Nephenee are together with A support, even though Nephenee has bond support with Calill. Jill is also here because she has bond support and will build A support with Mist. The rest are filler units, though most of them are members of the Greil Mercenaries.

Hawk Army
Tibarn, Reyson, Ranulf, Elincia, Lucia, and Tauroneo are the mandatory members of the Hawk Army. Marcia and Astrid have A support, so they are together. Calill and Fiona, on the other hand, have no support with anyone, so I plan to have them build support during their time in the Hawk Army. Calill is also in this army as she is needed to unlock a scene in a later chapter. The rest are filler characters, but it is noted that members of the Crimean Royal Army are here. Tibarn's men Janaff and Ulki are also here.

Ranulf's warning to Ike before the armies split up.
Shocking the first time I found out about this.

Part 4A: On the Way to the Tower of Guidance

Yune, you are never wrong.

Prologue

Sanaki and Raven King Naesala join the Silver Army. During one of their stops, the Silver Army are attacked by an army known as Disciples of Order, people who are freed by Ashera from petrification to fight for her

Even worse:
This makes the battle a challenging one, but at the same time beneficial. The enemies may be stronger, and tougher, but they yield more EXP points. Units can level up faster, making them stronger.

My army may be small, but majority of them are composed of 3rd tier classes already, while the enemy only have high level 2nd class units. Though I have the upper hand,  it is still a difficult battle. I also have to deal with the annoying AI trick which never gets old, the hit and run Canto strategy.

Chapter 1

Nearly beat Leanne's team? Nope!
Can't let the item only Mist can use go to waste, and just at the right moment.
The Greil Army also got ambushed.
This is one of those chapters where having a small army hurts. Enemy entry points are limited, but they can create new ones. Not everyone in the army are "bulky" enough to receive a lot of enemy attacks. What's worse? I realized that I put too many magic users in the Silver Army, and none here. I should've put Mia and Ilyana here, and transferred Heather and Nephenee to the other team.

Jill and Mist defend the right side of camp. Nephenee and Heather guard the left side of camp. Ike, Nailah, and Titania defend the main entrance of the camp. Ranged weapons is a +1 in this battle, because a lot of enemies are either using javelins, or are casters.
Fog of War made the battle even harder, because of harder prediction of enemy movements. Heather comes in handy here, because of the thief class having extended vision, something not lost from the series.

I'm sorry, what we're you trying to say?
"Fanatics"
Chapter 2

Tibarn worries that too much order would be bad for the laguz. Without enemies to fight on the way, they would be out of shape when they finally confront Ashera. They are soon ambushed by an army of the Disciples of Order, led by Senator Valtome.

Not counting Tibarn, the army consists of six units only! On the bright side, Elincia with 4x attack from the Amiti is here, to reduce the stress.

The army may be small, but it is not as difficult as the previous battle, since it is not a defend battle. Besides, enemies only attack when units are on their attack range, making me able to limit the attacks per turn. I just have to be aware of the wind sage with the Blizzard tome, because there are fliers in my troop.

Oh, you're looking for her? Don't worry, you'll meet her.

Thanks to the increased EXP drop, Lucia was able to promote to Trueblade quickly. With the addition of Astra skill, clearing the level has never been easier.

Valtome, are you looking for Elincia? Here she is. She never forgot what you did to a village in Crimea.

Prepare to get owned for what you did, Valtome!
Time to pay for your abuse of power!

I'm going to stop here for now. Next post would be on the continuation of their journey, and then it's on to the Tower of Guidance.

Trauma Team (Wii) - A Break from Strategy Games

I'm really fond of strategy games, but there comes a time when I also need to take a break from them, especially when these games are the hard ones which can give you nice headaches thinking of strategies (I'm looking at you, Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest).

A friend of mine, who is a medicine student, introduced to me Trauma Team. Knowing that this game is like the medicine games which are released in smartphones, I did not even think of trying the game.

When I told my sister about the game, she said that she wanted to try out the game. In fact, she is going to take up medicine once she finishes pre-med. So I got the game for her.

As I watched my sister play, I saw that the game is very different from the ones on the smartphones. Trauma Team is actually better.

There came a time when I wanted to try the game for myself, to try a different gameplay, and of course, the story.

The story is pretty interesting, that I was able to finish the game even before finishing Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest. Even though the degree I'm taking up is not connected to medicine in any way, the game introduced me to medicine in a nice way.

The game has six types of fields, for six different characters.

First off is general surgery. In this field, you play as CR-S01, a prisoner who has very good medical skills. Suffering from amnesia, he cannot recall even his own name. Hence, he is called by his prisoner code.

His gameplay uses the Wii remote as if the player is the one who is doing the surgery itself. Kinda annoying if the Wii remote does not properly detect the sensor bar (which happens a lot in my case because of the TV placing).

Vitals system is used in his levels, where an operation fails when the vitals reach 0.

Second, we have Maria Torres, who is a paramedic. She specializes in first response, or in my knowledge, first aid.

Just like CR-S01, the Wii remote is used as if the player is treating the injured people. The hard part started on the last chapters, where there are too many injured people arriving at the same time to be treated.

Like CR-S01, vitals system is also used in her levels, but the operation fails when many patients' vitals drop to 0.

Third, we have Hank Freebird, a.k.a. Captain Eagle, a part time hero. He is an ex-soldier who is now a surgeon. He specializes in Orthopedics.

Unlike those mentioned above, Hank's levels promote more accurate procedures, rather than doing them fast because of the time pressure of the vitals system.

His missions fail, when the player reaches a number of mistakes, rather than vitals reaching 0.

Fourth, is Tomoe Tachibana, who always mentions her "Path of Honor". She specializes in Endoscopy, a field of medicine which I have no idea what it is, before I played her chapters.

Her levels also use the vitals system, and is a pretty different type of surgery. In her levels, the players acts as if he is controlling the endoscope (I think?).

Not really a fun level, because it gets annoying especially in levels with a lot of branches like the bronchioles of the lungs, not to mention there's a time limit on these kinds of levels.

Fifth is Gabe Cunningham, who is diagnostician. As his profession implies, he specializes in diagnostics.

His missions are nice, because I get to know more about medicine, and some kinds of sickness. The Wii remote can act as a stethoscope too!

The only part I don't like in his levels, is playing spot the difference between two images of X-ray, MRI and etc. I'm not familiar with those terms.

Be careful not to make too many mistakes!

Lastly, is Naomi Kimishima, a.k.a. "Corpse Whisperer". She used to be a surgeon in an earlier game. Now, she specializes in Forensics.

Autopsy missions are my favorite in this game, since it is not focused on medicine. I always wanted to try detective games, and game has a good autopsy game.

Kinda gets hard on the later levels, but still a fun game, because it promotes good critical thinking skills. It's also nice to have an autopsy game for once.

Thanks to my friend who showed me this, I will also try playing Trauma Center: Second Opinion, and other games in the series.
